(A letter from my hometown librarian.)
As the longtime librarian at your hometown library, I just wanted you to know that according to our records you have an overdue book from your school days. It was checked out on Feb. 8, 1977 and has an accrued fine of $718.55. The good news is that we will be having an upcoming Amnesty Day on all overdue books if returned in good order.
All the best,
Olive A. Paige-Turner
P.S. I got your address from your mother, who I chatted with after church last Sunday. She told me all about your overseas visits and I’m glad to hear that you’ve overcome your travel phobia.
